Benaroya Concert Hall (Seattle Symphony Hall), Seattle, WA* Architect:  LMN Architects with previous employer Magnusson Klemencic Associates The project consists of over 183,000 sq.ft and has six stories of underground parking.  Performance Halls include a 2,500 seat Auditorium and a recital hall. The Burlington Northern Railroad runs diagonally beneath the site while the Metro Bus Station is situated adjacent to the site. The auditorium is essentially and acoustically a separate building within the overall entire building in an effort to dampen vibrations from the underground railroad and adjacent bus station. The auditorium transfers gravity loads, in addition to wind and seismic loads, from the base of the auditorium to the overall building structure through the use of vertical and horizontal rubber bearing pads.  The auditorium utilizes pre-cast concrete beams and risers to form the balconies.
