Tony is a recent graduate of University of Maine, in Orono, where he received both his Master of Science and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. His Masters Degree emphasized Structural Engineering theory and design with a concentration in his Structural Graduate Project. His thesis, titled Optimized Wood Components and Subassemblies for Maximum Ductility, focuses on the optimization of Wood Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Structures and its ability to resist impacts from blasts. His research led to the development of blast resistant buildings with optimized design obtained via experimental methods and data analysis.
|
| As a Graduate Research Assistant, he managed the design team for blast testing preparations and execution over the course of four months. In addition to his graduate experience at the Advanced Engineered Wood Composites Center at the University of Maine, Tony also worked for the Maine Department of Transportation as a Transportation Aide for the design and inspection of roadways. Since joining Casco Bay Engineering, his professional experience includes the engineering/retrofit of numerous structures including Gorham Bike & Ski, a retail store in Portland, Maine, which incorporates a glass façade with a suspended canopy at the front of the building with a back-up structural steel brace frame lateral component. |
