Carolyn Bird is President and co-founder of Casco Bay Engineering. With almost 20 years of professional experience in Structural Engineering, Carolyn brings enhanced technical and quality standards to structural analysis and design. She is highly regarded by her clients and the professional community. Carolyn donates much of her time to various organizations including ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies), where she serves as a State Director and SEAM (Structural Engineers Association of Maine), where she serves as Treasurer. She is registered in numerous states throughout the country. |
Carolyn received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont in 1990. Throughout the 1990’s, Carolyn worked in Seattle, Washington, for internationally renowned Magnusson Klemencic Associates. In 2000, she moved to Portland, Maine, where she began her professional relationship with Casco Bay Engineering co-founder Eric Dube. |
| Having worked on multiple award-winning projects, Carolyn was the Project Manager for the Experience Music Project* in Seattle, Washington, with architect Frank O. Gehry & Associates. In addition, she was the Project Engineer for Benaroya Hall*, home of the Seattle Symphony. She has also engineered numerous hospitals, educational facilities, and convention centers throughout the country. Internationally, Carolyn has been involved in the design of numerous projects including Echelon Square*; a building comprised of two-40 story towers in Colombo, Sri Lanka. |
